How to make a Multi Boot USB
Creating a Multiboot USB Disk
There are many Utilities to create a multiboot drive like Yumi Multiboot (Download), XBoot (Download), SARDU (Download), MultiSystem (Linux Based, Download).
We are using Yumi ( Your Universal Multiboot Installer) here in Windows OS. Yumi is a small utility used to make a USB Flash Drive that can contain multiple operating systems, antivirus, utilities, disc diagnostic tools and some more.You can download Yumi from here.
Yumi Multiboot
- Insert USB flash drive to PC.
- Download and Run Yumi.
- Step 1: Select the USB drive you want to make Multiboot.( Checking On “Show All Drives” will show all Drive on your System including HDD (be careful you might format you HardDrive ) and then Select your desired USB Drive. )
- Step 2: Scroll the drop-down menu and select ISO you want to insert into USB.
- Step3: Browse your PC and Select .ISO file location. If you don’t have that ISO image click “Download the ISO (optional)” from Right side and it will take you to the ISO download page. Now Let the ISO Image download complete.
Complete your first ISO install
- Click “Create” and a message will appear that setup is going to drive formatted and boot record will be written on the USB drive
- Click “Yes” to complete an install. to exit click “No”.
Add more ISO image to USB drive
- Repeat all Steps (except formatting the drive) to install another ISO image. You may add multiple ISO image keeping in mind the Size of your USB drive.
Remove any image
- Insert USB drive you created multiboot.
- Run Yumi.
- Click “View or Remove Installed Distros” checkbox
- Under Step 2 select “Select the operating system you want to remove” and Click remove.
Boot from multiBoot USB to install Windows or Run any utility
Insert MultiBoot USB to PC you want to install OS and turn it ON. Click relevant Boot menu Key when computer startup. Some are listed here you may find your PCs from Google.
- Dell – F12
- HP – Esc, F9
- Acer – Esc, F9, F12
- Lenovo – F8, F10, F12
- ASUS – Esc, F8
- Compaq – Esc, F9
- Sony – F11, F12
- Toshiba – F12
as the boot menu appears select option like “Boot from USB” and Yumi Menu shall appear here Choose Operating System want to Run or install.
